*The big news of the day was Allen Iverson getting traded to Detroit for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb. Most are saying that McDyess won't dress for Denver, and we could see him back on the Pistons in a few months when he's permitted to re-sign with them. True Blue Pistons has the exclusive interview with Joe D. For a more in-depth look at the trade from a media perspective, Chad Ford and John Hollinger each take sides.
*Ball Don't Lie asks that same ol' question, Kobe or Jordan? They also have a 10-min video argument on the topic that sounds an awful lot like about 80 conversations I've had regarding this same topic. Kobe scored 81; that's insane. It's even better than Wilt scoring 100. Much better actually, considering Kobe was taking mostly jumpshots, whereas Wilt was dunking on people much smaller than him. Kobe is unbelievable. However, we're talking about Michael Jordan. Why do we speak ill of Michael by comparing him to Kobe? MJ: 6 Finals MVP. Kobe: 0. Why do we compare? Michael did it without a point guard and a center. Kobe needs a big to get to the Finals. Why do we compare? The numbers speak for themselves (click here). A more one-sided, clever look at the comparison (click here).
*The Power Rankings: NBA and ESPN. A big loss to the Pacers had the Celtics drop below the never-losing Hornets, who are now 10-0 including the preseason (mostly without Tyson Chandler and now Peja).
