Thursday Breakdown

"Mayor of Akron?" he said. "I'm already mayor of Akron. I've been that for about 10 years now." - LeBron James

*Barack O'Baller! Alan Hahn catches up with Chris Duhon to discuss his pick up games with the President Elect.

*A few amazing clips and stories about Josh Childress, his new team, and playing in Greece. Childress wasn't the first to go to Europe to play, but he might have been the best at the time of his signing. What a huge difference in Europe and NBA contracts. He can opt out at the end of this year or at the end of next year. This always leads to the...LeBron or Kobe to Europe talk. It's definitely something that worries me about the future of the league. If these guys can go to Europe, get paid after taxes, opt out whenever they want, then why not? If the salaries start going up to $50 Million or so, like some people are predicting for European teams to steal the NBA's best, then David Stern might have to consider opening up the Salary Cap. Tampa Bay did go past the Sox and Yanks...

*It took too long, but finally Iverson has one thing and one thing only on his mind. Winning a championship. Chris McCosky from the Detroit News caught with AI:

"My whole thing is winning a championship," he said. "I have money. I have all the individual accolades. I've done the All-Star thing. I've been the scoring champ and an MVP. What I haven't had was the chance to feel the feeling of winning a championship. That's the most important thing right now."

*
Sounds like Nellie is done with Al Harrington. Potential star Brandon Wright, it's your time to shine.

*Hilarious comic strip of Stephon Marbury and Eddie Curry at Ball Don't Lie. This is a must-see.

*Mark Cuban, taking the words out of my mouth about Obama. I'm not a die hard Cuban guy, but he really hit the nail on the head on this one. While I don't agree with a lot of his policies, and his superstar celebrity status, I sure am proud to be an American.

The best was when Malone and Payton became Lakers to win a Championship with Kobe and Shaq. Just hysterical, Malone accepted $1.5 mill just for a chance to win..
